Case competition jargon and technical terms!
You might hear weird words and phrases and things thrown out when it comes to case competitions, so this is your guide breaking it all down.
You've done a case competition, or maybe a few - this is how you actually convert all the hard work you put in, into meaningful outcomes that can help you get jobs and internships!

You finished or participated in the case competition recently? Your work isn't done there, there's a lot of value you can extract out of optimising the way you go about marketing yourself, especially in an age where job applications get a thousand applications for a single role. You have to be a signal that cuts through the noise/sea of applicants. The best way to do this is through a couple methods:
Posting about it:
Yes this can feel uncomfortable but not having a job is more uncomfortable. Whether you're showcasing what you learnt, posting your slide deck/submissions or even flexing if you've one or placed in heats (this is the highest ROI method so do it!). This is a great way to start building your personal profile and brand and a good method in showcasing how you stand out from others. Only 1-3% of students actually go about posting this, so you'll stand out significantly amongst everyone else if you do.
Including it in your CV/resume:
Include this in the education section which should be at the top of your CV/resume (make sure it's one page, by the way). You can talk about the competition you participated in and how you placed. Even if you didn't get to the heats or finals, you should definitely include it and then talk about, in a short, concise one-sentence summary.
Including your certificate in LinkedIn awards section:
You should attach the certificate generated by CaseCrest in your awards section on LinkedIn. This is an audited and reliable signal for recruiters to know that you've actually participated in a case competition and it helps you show up in SEO/GEO search as well as rank hire in recruitment systems. You can find your certificate in the portfolio section of your CaseCrest account, which you can click on the top right of the page after you've participated in a CaseCrest hosted competition and the competition has wrapped up.
